Current Read: You're Making Me Hate You by Corey Taylor.
Fun facts about me: 1) I can be pretty cynical/angsty a lot of the time 2) I like Slipknot. I was looking up books to read, specifically books written by celebrities, and came across one of Corey Taylor's books. Corey is the lead singer of Slipknot and Stone Sour, two bands I'm a bit of a fan of. And I say "one of" with a bit of shock to my voice - I never knew this dude was an author, let alone an author of at least two books.
You're Making Me Hate You: A Cantankerous Look At The Common Misconception That Humans Have Any Common Sense Left (full title of the book, no lie) is Corey's look at the world from the angriest view possible. It's the view you'd expect from the lead singer of Slipknot. And I love that. Corey hates you, your friends, your parents, and more than likely...your snotty-nosed little brat of a kid. He talks about numerous life experiences he's had, and how said experience has made him realize that humans are idiots. And to be quite honest - we are kind of dumb at times.
I'm loving this book so far (I have about a quarter of it left to read) because I hear every single word in Corey's voice. And that is a beautiful thing when you're on a crowded A train during rush hour standing in between a douchebag who's listening to their music too loud and someone who forgot deodorant that morning.
Sorry, that was the New Yorker in me speaking.
Anywho, give this book a read because it's full of a bunch of chuckles and "He's so right" moments.
