Everyone here on the intewebz who owns a blog or a website has their reason as to why they ended up here, in the blogosphere. Whether it be money, boredom, or to get their next product out there.
The Early Years
I guess you can say when I truly truly started blogging was back in the LiveJournal days. Oh boy, my angsty pre-teen/teen years were a trip on there. That was way more personal, and on Livejournal you could have your entire journal locked so that only certain people could view it. This was important to people like me, who were of the "Oh no I hope no one from school finds my LJ!" crowd.
Years later, I would become makeup obsessed and it pretty much consumed my life. I figured, if I was gonna blog, it should be about something that makes me happy and is fun for me. And I had so much pent up makeup knowledge and love that I needed to share with someone besides my mom and my one best friend who's into makeup. So why not share it with all you lovely people?
Why a Change From Just Makeup?
Over the last year or so, I haven't been into makeup as much as I was when I first started this blog. I still absoutely love the art and anyone talented to do it, and get excited when I see a beat face or some purple lipstick. But it's really that I just don't wear as much makeup as I once did. I still put on what I guess one would consider a "full" face of makeup - primer, foundation, concealer, blush, bronzer, eyeliner, mascara, and some kind of lip product. But in my eyes, that's nothing compared to the full on eyeshadow looks and highlight/contour routine I used to do on the daily. Again, I still love it all and keep my collection filled, just not as much as I once did.
What I Want My Blog's Future To Be
Overall, I just want Strange And Pretty to stay...me. Yes, we can all dream to be super successful bloggers, and I would love to be one day. But even if I'm lucky enough for that to happen, I still want it to be truly me and a representation of who I am and what I'm about. I want my readers to know the real me, and not feel like I'm someone just sitting here trying to sell you stuff. I'd love for people to be able to trust and relate to me, as a blogger, and as an overall person.
What made you start your blog? Or if you haven't already, what would be your niche if you did start blogging?
