Remember back in the day when you'd play with your mom's makeup, perfume, and clothes? I'm sure we all do. That very bit of nostalgia is what made me fall in love with Clinique Happy.
When I was about ten years old, my mom had one of the biggest collections of perfumes, body lotions, and body sprays (or so my young self felt like the biggest) ever. Apart of her collection, was Clinique Happy. I randomly spritzed some on and went about my day. Back then I had no clue what "notes" of a perfume were, or anything like that. So all I knew was that it smelled good on me.
Fast forward sixteen years later, and we have me being beauty obsessed and Sephora having their VIB sale. I didn't even think twice about putting the scent in my basket without smelling it in over a decade. Seeing the bottle on the website just reminded me of my childhood and I couldn't say no to buying it for myself.
The notes in Happy remind me summer. I actually hate the summer. But this perfume makes me think of how I'd want the summer to smell. I smell a certain kind of citrus (not flat out orange/tangerine/lemon or anything), backed by a nice sophisticated (but not granny smelling) one. Also, it stays on you all day. I've gotten so many compliments on this at like...5pm when I put in on was around 7am. Wonderful.
I love this perfume. It reminds me of little Monica, my mom, and the very beginnings of my beauty obsession. I'm so glad it.s still around after all these years.
