I don't do tags often, but I couldn't pass this one up. It made me feel all nostalgic and stuff *tear*. So here we go!
1. When did you first start getting into make up?
I believe it was the year after I graduated high school (around 2006-2007). I never saw the need for serious makeup before then (I think I wore a bit of MAC Studio Fix in high school, but nothing else).
2. What was the first make up you bought?
I'm sure it was eyeliner or mascara (or maybe both?). I certainly remember sitting at my vanity trying to put on eyeliner for like an hour because I was so afraid of having objects near my eyes (I've never worn contacts for this very reason). Needless to say, I eventually got over that.
3. What is the newest/oldest items in your collection?
Newest is Stereo Rose MSF and Nightmoth lip liner from MAC (I ordered them together). Oldest is probably...Currant lip liner from MAC. My mom had it laying around not being used, so I made use of it.
4. Who is your celebrity make up idol?
To be honest...any of the Kardashians (I even did a Style Inspiration post on these girls). Most specifically, Kris Jenner. Say what you want about that family, their makeup is always, ALWAYS on point. Kris's smokey eyes are to die for.
5. Who is your favorite YouTube guru?
She may not be considered a "guru", really. But I fucking love Claire Marshall. I literally wish I was her sometimes. But if we're talking real guru guru, I'd say Nicole Guerriero. I love her cause she's gorgeous but fun to watch and relatable. Heidicupcake is a close third.
6. What is a look/trend that you wish you could pull off?
Matte nails. Or maxi dresses. I'm too short for maxi dresses (I'm only 5'0), and the matte look always just looks wrong on me. I dunno if it's cause I don't get my nails done on a regular basis and it looks BETTER that way, or what. Idk idk.
7. Any make up disasters?
I remember I went out partying a few years ago when I didn't know that SPF and flash did not mix. Ghost face in the club, yall. It was terrible.
8. What's your favorite make up brand?
Drugstore would be Maybelline. High(er) end is probably...Urban Decay. I like that they have fun, dramatic shades, but also knew they needed to tap into their more natural shades and brought out their Naked products.
9. What is your favorite make up tip/trick that you wish you knew sooner?
To blend out the harsh line up underneath my brow bone when I do smokey eyes. To think how long I was doing them WITHOUT blending it out scares the hell out of me. And to think, all it took was a little bit more face powder!
10. Which 5 products could you not live without?
Moisturizer, lip balm (this one), concealer (this one), body lotion (this one), annnddd...I honestly can't think of a fifth. Let's be honest, most of us don't need most of the makeup we have (love? of course). Getting it down to the bare minimum is pretty easy.
