ELF Gotta Glow Highlighter.
Gotta Glow is yet another addition to my highlighter hoarding collection. It's labeled as a blush, but I'm not sure how anyone would use this as a blush alone. So, highlighter it is!
In the pan and without any blending, it looks like just a white powder. Swatched and on the cheeks, it ends up being a a really pretty gold highlight. As far as shimmer goes, there's noticeable particles in swatches and when you put it on your cheeks. No huge, chunky pieces to worry about, but noticeable. I'm oily as hell, and the shimmer doesn't bother me once I put it on.
But I will say, Gotta Glow can be a bit powdery when you use it. It's not as finely milled as it could be. But it's not so chalky that you feel like you're using something from one of those super cheap makeup sets we used to get when we were little. I know NARS has Albatross, which a lot of people say Gotta Glow is a dupe for. I don't own Albatross, so I wouldn't really know. But maybe the higher end version could give you a softer powder consistency than its drugstore dupe.
I don't pull this highlighter out as much as some of my others, and that could be because I have a few others that give me this shade WITHOUT the powdery texture. But I do have a special place in my heart for gold highlights, so I break this out every now and again.
