If you were to look at my makeup collection, you would see
how much I loe mineralized anything. Eye shadows, highlighters, blush, you name
it, I’ll love it. The pigmentation is just 10x more vibrant than regular
products, and MAC’s Love Thing blush is no different.
Love Thing is a raspberry-pink hybrid of a color. There’s also
a golden shimmer (shimmer guys, NOT glitter) running through it that makes it
that much more amazing. Now let me just throw a little warning out there – this
is no subtle blush you’re messing with here. This color goes on pretty darn
strong, but that’s one of the reasons I love it. I tend to use this when I don’t
wear any real eye makeup. It’s just the perfect pop of color that doesn’t just sit
there being a pop of color. The golden shimmer gives it that extra ump that
makes it special. However, if you did want to tone it down some, just use a
light hand and maybe a non-dense stippling brush to apply.
I tend to gravitate towards berry and wine shades because
they just look gorgeous on my skin tone (I’m an NW43/45). I have tons of them,
but Love Thing is definitely my favorite. Just looking at it makes me weep with
joy and excitement (yes, it’s THAT serious for me). Because I just can’t get
enough of it, I’ve actually used this as an eye shadow as well. This effect is
just as wonderful.
What’s your favorite I-Gotta-Make-A-Statement blush?
my gotta make-a-statement blush is illamasqua-thrust! absolute love! thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteas i was just googling that blush, i remembered how much i love illamasqua. thrust is gorgeous and i'm gonna need to finally purchase something from them.
DeleteI get soooo nervous about blushes with shimmer! I have super DUPER (no rly) oily skin and I'm against anything with too much shimmer goin onto my face. Thats such a lovely color though! My make-a-statement blush would probably be NARS' Desire, it's so pretty!
ReplyDeletei actually have the same kinda skin (my face looks like i could fry chicken on it about 5 hours into my day, seriously) and this blush is fine for me. it's not obnoxious glitter, it's a fine shimmer so it's oily skin friendly. what i've done in the past to kinda safe guard against the fried chicken effect (if i'm REALLY scared about looking ridiculous) is dust a little bit of translucent powder over my cheeks before i head out of the house.
DeleteThis is so pretty! I think my favorite statement making blushes are NARS Exhibit A and Taj Mahal.
ReplyDeletei've been eyeing those EXACT blushes for a while. i don't have any bright red blushes, and i'm on an orange blush kick right now. those two are gorgeous and would definitely do the trick.
